The U.S. 1854 Liberty Head Gold Dollar (Type I)

1854 (Type I) Liberty Head Dollar; Designed by James B. Longacre; weight one.672 grams; ninetieth gold/10% copper; diameter thirteen metric linear unit.

I love this good very little coin! it had been the primary gold greenback minted in America by the authority of Congress, and solely lasted for six years before it had been replaced by the larger, agent Indian Head kind. this kind was minted from 1849 to 1854, and therefore the NGC-graded MS-62 specimen shown here sold  for $395.00 in June, 2006.
